In Other News: Dancing Shoes and Topsham Burgers

Friday, 21 November 2014

Well I’m going to debrief you on last weekend as this week has been most uneventful although productive as I’ve got a lot of uni work done...but we’ll gloss over that unless you want to hear all about mythologizing love and freedom in Spanish theatre?

In the Kitchen: Candy Bar Cookie Bars

Thursday, 20 November 2014

I did a spot of baking yesterday for the Footlights bake sale today. Now baking isn't something I'd claim to be good at, I'm definitely more of a savoury girl but I can just about follow a recipe. There was no doubt about it, in my dashing polka dot pinny I was ready for action.

Working in the Wardrobe: The Workshop

Tuesday, 18 November 2014

So as some of you may or may not be aware I’ve somehow managed to get a position as costume assistant for ‘Evita’ produced by Footlights our musical theatre society. I enjoyed school performances and fashion shows but I’ve never been on the production side of things and I am ridiculously excited. The production meetings have given me such an insight into what all the different production sub-teams are up to and I have been hankering to get into my own role. Costume finally got our teeth stuck into things this week when we had the chance to rummage through costumes from previous shows.

In Other News: The Adventure Ball and the 48 Hour Musical

Saturday, 15 November 2014

Last weekend was so much fun. I went to the Adventure Ball which basically involved a group of us in black tie at a children’s adventure park. But there were no children and there was a bar. On Sunday night I caught Footlights’ 48 Hour Musical ‘My Father’s Son’ which was absolutely hilarious. Since then I haven’t been up to too much getting my head down and trying to write although I’ve had a serious case of writer’s block.

Wandering: Paris

Wednesday, 12 November 2014

I’m going to take you back a little bit to the beginning of September. I wasn’t really blogging back then but I feel like I should fill you in slightly. George and I took a trip to Paris.

5 Perks: Lemon Water

Sunday, 9 November 2014

I started drinking lemon water mainly because I'm trying to calm down my caffeine intake. I'm a religious coffee drinker, americanos, lattes, skinny, hazelnut, CHAI, anything but decaff. In a bid to ween myself off my 'addiction' and an attempt to start the day a bit more healthily I've switched my morning black, one sugar for a hot water and lemon. It's only since then I've looked into why it really is so good for you and here are a few perks I thought were interesting.

Boudoir-ing on a Budget

Tuesday, 4 November 2014

Now that I am living in a house I get ridiculously over excited about homeware. I invested in an iron-woven, heart shaped fruit bowl and whilst no one else seemed to be very enthusiastic about my purchase I see it as the piece de resistance of our kitchen. I think my hot pink bath mat is probably over looked too but it's without a doubt these little touches that make a room.

Sorry I am the Worst Blogger Ever (and Other News)

Sunday, 2 November 2014

Okay I know I have been the absolute worst blogger in the world. I have no excuse but I am sorry and I promise I’m back now I have drawn up a plan and everything and I am ready to blog. I’m in my second year of uni now and I’m being all mature and organised, I even iron (sometimes) and regularly borrow library books and enjoy alcohol without getting drunk. I know I’m getting old.
